LITTLE Symbols
Little symbols is a series of illustrations inspired by Mesoamerican symbols found within the Mexica ritual calendar, the Tonalpohualli. The Tonalpohualli is a 260-day cycle in which a sequence of 20 day signs is repeated 13 times, accompanied by numerals.
These small-scale illustrations use bright colors and playful imagery to offer my own contemporary interpretation of these symbols while making them more approachable and engaging for viewers of all ages. The series is especially intended to create an accessible way for children to learn about and immerse themselves in Mesoamerican visual traditions.
A book based on the LittlE symbols series is currently in development and will be published in the near future.

Nunca Fue tU Culpa
Nunca Fue Tu Culpa (“It Was Never Your Fault”) is a series that explores the emotional weight of experiences we often carry as if they were our own responsibility. Through painting and symbolism, the work examines themes of memory, identity, healing, and the ways cultural and personal histories can leave marks on the body and mind.
The series reflects on the process of confronting experiences that have shaped us while recognizing that not everything we carry belongs to us. Nunca Fue Tu Culpa is both a statement of release and an act of reclamation; a reminder that healing can begin when we separate ourselves from the blame, shame, and expectations placed upon us.
Through expressive imagery and layered symbolism, the series creates space for reflection on what we inherit, what we endure, and what we ultimately choose to let go.
